Selected Resources for Students

Peace Corps engages kids in an interactive game where students are responsible for making real- life decisions about a community in Africa. Kids must face challenges such as water contamination, malaria, soil runoff, and others in an effort to help sustain a small village. Teacher lesson plans are provided to support each student challenge.

Global Sound is a searchable database of global music for listening, sampling, and downloading. There are a variety of lesson plans, performance videos, activities, and music kits available. 

This site provides a wealth of children's books in multiple languages and features a kid-friendly search tool. Many stories available in bilingual formats.
 

Selected Resources for Teachers

This PBS program reports "global stories on a human scale," giving in-depth coverage from the perspective of the people directly involved in the stories. The program's website has a section for educators that includes lesson plans, classroom tips, and teacher resources. 

This organization aims to strengthen education by incorporating important 21st century skills such as global awareness, collaboration, and information and communications literacy into curricula. The website provides online tools for educators. 

This site offers a wealth of information about global education in U.S. schools. Learn more about national policy initiatives, innovative state examples, and opportuniites to get involved.
